salvaged-wood bathtub, headboard, island, floor…

Rum Magazine

Lately, we’ve been seeing planks and bits of salvaged wood being used in bold geometric patterns to enclose bathtubs, and kitchen islands, make headboards and floors… Pieced together like a puzzle, with a good eye, “rustic” changes curiously to modern.

…this floor is by Piet Hein Eek who had also makesĀ chairs, tables, cabinets out of scrapwood

Googling “salvaged wood” will take you into a world of possibilities – including rare, really wide antique boards. We also love this site that lists salvage places across the country.

  1. Wow that floor is phenomenal! Would much prefer that to my cheap rental parquet floor that I have now…
