A couple of weeks ago, we imagined what it would be like to apply Austrian artist Otto Zitko’s beautiful scribble scrabble to a REAL living space. We just stumbled on just that: the interior designer team of William Diamond and Anthony Baratta commissioned Zitko to do his thing on the walls and ceiling around a rather grand staircase. We found it in 1st Dib’s excerpt of All-American: The Exuberant Style of William Diamond and Anthony Baratta

Something about the interaction of the dark bannister and dark lines is eye-catching here. Just yesterday I read another post about writing on the walls (well, cupboard doors) that started me thinking I ought to look around for unusual spaces to leave my mark in my own home. honestly, this strikes me as ugly. they’ve taken the classicism of mozart and played a grunge band piece over the top. jarring. they don’t go together.
