how to overdye a vintage rug (and make a chair)

(Video link here.) A couple of weeks ago, we stopped in at ABC Carpet & Home to see what was going on there: a huge display of lovely overdyed rugs, in vivid colors. Wonder how they do that? we thought. And voila: a video from Still & Co. appeared giving the diy gist in a curiously charming way.

Although you can apply the process to some BIG patterned rugs, like the ones we saw at ABC…

Still +Company expanded the concept to furniture by overdyeing smaller rugs to afix to moderne chair frames.  Dig the chairs they made:

It seems that a lot of people are venturing into overdying as it is a great way to transform worn or tired rugs. There are lots of diy instructions on the internet…here...and here

I didn’t make the video…posted one I’d found. I’d contact the makers for more info: Still & Co.
