(Video link here.)  We considered Sue Austin’s deep sea dives in her wheelchair among the most amazing examples of outside-the-box wheelchair thinking until we saw this splendid, energizing, deeply heartening video of Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, a “professional hardcore sitter” pushing his wheelchair to exhilarating limits. We appreciate clips of his occasional wipe-outs, par for the course with any attempt at mastery and risk-taking. And his attitude:

Aaron enjoys showing young kids with disabilities that a wheelchair can be a toy, not a restriction. He loves helping younger children learn how to handle their chairs in new and different ways…Someday he hopes to design “the most wicked” chair in the world.

Aaron has a passion for what he does, not only is it a lot of fun, but he wants to change the world’s perception of people in wheelchairs, as well as helping everyone see his/her own challenges in a new way.

The guy has figured out how to FLY!
