Seven-year-old Charlotte Benjamin recently wrote the Lego Company calling them out on their gender-stereotyped toys:

All the girls did was sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and they had no jobs but the boys went on adventures, worked, saved people, and had jobs, even swam with sharks.

She calls on the Lego company “to make more Lego girl people and let them go on adventures and have fun ok!?!”

We were really disappointed to hear that Lego, which we love for the toys inherent message of inventiveness, is displaying scarily limiting thinking.

And really dazzled by Charlotte for thinking on her feet, taking the initiative, pushing against obstructions, using her voice!

go on adventures and have fun

…should be EVERYONE’S right AND mission.

Thank you Charlotte!
