According to London-based design firm Doshi Levien, this fence was the inspiration for the line of cabinets below. We think the fence itself is just swell in it’s simple, curiously modern lines and simple construction.

As for the cabinets, were interested to see someone else’s iteration of our long-held fantasy of using corrugated metal for cabinets and doors, even room screens indoors.

They are a bit too cleaned-up and plasticized for our taste, but we love seeing the connection between inspiration and manifestation.

  1. The colored ones are fun. I wouldn’t want these in my kitchen . . . all I can see is lots of places for dust and grease to collect!

  2. As you wrote a time ago: “A Fence, Furniture and Inspiration from Corrugated Metal … As for the cabinets, were interested to see someone else’s iteration of our long-held fantasy of using corrugated metal for cabinets and doors, even room screens indoors.”

    OK, we did it.
Inspired from old corrugated aircrafts (Junkers Ju52 and Ford Trimotor) we learned how to make our own corrugated aluminum and to shape it. Now we can make a cabinet, a stool, a small side table and two different lamps by request. It is not easy, it is time consuming and each is a bit different – so it is more like an art project than normal furniture making.
