We’ve had this fab, rare, 19C French dining table in storage, hoping that we’d have a place for it in the Laboratory. Unfortunately, it’s eight-foot length just won’t work in the configuration of our space. We’ve decided to sell it, for a steal. The buyer would arrange for an pay for shipping from Seattle (or pick it up, if in the area). We need to let it go.

We enjoyed many a wonderful dinner party in its original space in Ireland. Its 24-inch width makes for a rarity: a long table where diners are not relegated to only talking to the person on either side of them. Each person sitting at the narrow table feels connected to everyone else.

We we loved using it as a work table, laying out projects along it’s length, and working at different parts of it.

In our research we’ve discovered that it’s REALLY rare to find a long table this narrow. The antique lines are curiously modern.

It is also a great table to position behind a sofa, to stack books, a lamp etc.

Note: it’s 29 inches high, a tad shorter than most modern tables. We found no problem sitting at it, but it would be easy to raise slightly. It’s in good vintage condition, that is, it’s been on the planet for over a century and, although well taken care of, has signs of it’s history and lots of character.

It is way-sturdy, depite two repairs…here

We have many good memories of meals at that odd, beautiful table.

We’re asking $3750,  half the $7500 price it was appraised in 2008.  If you’re interested, or to see comparables, please contact sally at [email protected].

  1. Have you sold your farm table?

  2. Is your table still for sale? What are you asking for it? The narrow French table?
