Every morning, we’ve been reading a page from Yoko Ono’s tiny book of instructions, Acorn. We have been moved by many of the “instructions” we’ve come across. We find this one, which advices a practice of mending, both physical and emotional, especially compelling.
We were reminded how the process of mending a broken thing can often be like a meditation as step-by-step you bring it back to usefulness of beauty, healing it as it were. It is in itself an act of love.
Why not take the metaphor a step further, and work to mend an inner rift or tear or wound as you mend something dear?
Repaired hammer, plate, jeans via the late great Platform 21, a repair collective and incubator, whose website remains. Check out more of their Remarkable Repairs here.
What a wonderful way to feel useful in helping something else be the same…for myself or others. Definitely a comparison to my own life becoming more unique and beautiful…with repairs!
Reminds me of ‘sorting things out outside helps sorting things out inside’
suddenly there is more room .
also changing pespective , e.g. by re-arranging furniture in your room.
suddenly there are new possibilities .
don’t stop there : )

Thank you for reminding us of kintsugi which I love: it celebrates the flaw with gold.
