become a friend with benefits
In the two years that the improvised life has been publishing, its extraordinary community of readers has grown steadily. We are delighted to hear daily that it has become an essential source of inspiration, ideas, and change in our readers lives.
That was Sally’s vision when she took “a leap” and launched the site. Since then, it has become her full-time job with MANY rewards indeed, although none of them financial. She spends some 60 hours a week writing, photo editing, interviewing, culling and researching ideas, and is the site’s (which includes pt assistant, rent etc) only source of funding, a fierce reality. Jackson Browne’s Running On Empty comes to mind (click to listen while you read on).
We’re working on a number of plans to keep the website ad-free with ALL content available to everyone, while continuing to grow new offerings, and its wonderful community.
If you find ‘the improvised life’ resonating in your life, we invite you to become a Friend with Benefits by subscribing for $5 or more! a month, ongoing (it happens automatically via your PayPal account, and you can choose to cancel at any time). In return, on ‘the improvised life’s sidebar, we will provide a link to your own website or blog. If you don’t have your own site, your name can appear without a link, or you can choose your favorite nonprofit organization. (In the future, we hope to make a dedicated supporter’s page, with links arranged by category.)
No content will be blocked or be “supporters-only”. Monthly Friends with Benefits will be playing an essential role in allowing us to keep delivering original posts every day, and get some traffic for their sites as well.
To become a Friend with Benefits, just click the subscribe button below. Be sure to enter your website’s url AND the name you’d like listed, in the box below (don’t worry; it’s big enough). (If you encounter any problems with PayPal, or prefer to donate by check, please send us an email at info@theimprovisedlife.com).
…One-time donations are DEEPLY appreciated as well.
