Here’s a magazine idea we find compelling: called Makeshift, it’s about the ingenious solutions and inventions people all over the world are making with what they’ve got on hand. Right now it exists as a Kickstarter project. We see it as a quarterly reminder of possibilities in magazine form, an antidote to Martha Stewart Living, Wallpaper, Elle Decor…

What do you think? (Is this something you’d buy?…Are you buying any magazines these days?)

  1. I recently subscribed to a print magazine i found called readymade. cool stuff. It started 10 years ago or so before i saw it on a newsstand.

It folded after I got one issue mailed to me. now they send me sports illustrated instead. which i do not want.

makeshift sounds good. i like the idea of the word too: Make shift.

BTW steve jobs was pretty good at making shifts in his time. I will check it out.

  2. I subscribe to Watercolor and Drawing mags. This is great – and I love the idea of an online magazine!
