Dutch Interior magazine VT Wonen recently commissioned stylist Frans Uyterlinden to create interesting ‘show house’ using an eclectic mix of materials. (Check out a preview at VosgesParis). Our favorite bit: a bench/sideboard made by lashing together recycled boards. We see big possibilities in this idea…….using painted boards for example (or painting just their edges different colors),  tailoring their length/width to your space , or  binding them different colored lashing straps like yellow, orange or blue, though we do love the red ones.

For us, the big revelation is in the possibilities for using lashing straps to create instant furniture…
