In a recent issue of Scientific American, writer Andrea Kuszewski shares new research about those techniques said to increase your IQ.

What’s interesting is that once participants’ brains figured out how to master a technique, and got really good at it, they got lazy!  So the results of memory games and mental exercises like Sudoku are actually quite short-lived.

For a limber brain (and spirit), we recommend creative projects that involve lots of problem-solving and dealing with the unexpected.
