Spring is definitely coming —we just saw some hopeful shoots coming up in the park — and we’re more than ready for warm weather and enjoying the outdoors NOT all bundled up.  Alison Schotz‘ ‘Mirror Fence” installation at Storm King fuels that dream: a picket fence that mirrors whatever is around it.

Although we don’t know the actual practical reality of a mirrored fence, we love the beauty reflected here.

  1. The mirrored fence looks cool but optical illusions like this are deadly for birds, who, mistaking them for open air, fly into them and are injured or die. In a world where we are losing species left and right thanks to human behavior, we can’t afford “art” that harms living creatures.

  2. Thanks, I hadn’t thought of that. That well could be. So we’ll take the work for what it is: a one-off artwork….

  3. Hi there! Would you mind if I share your blog with my facebook
group? There’s a lot of people that I think would really appreciate your content.

Please let me know. Thank you
