I once sat next to a woman on a plane from SF to LA who spent the entire trip just swiping through photos of her friends/family’s faces. It was fascinating! So human, and so simple, yet it seemed like such a contrast to the way other people use phones in that kind of setting (games, notes, work…)

It’s like she was absolutely clear on what was most important to her, and simply recalling these special faces was sufficient to give her joy and keep her entertained.
