When I was a kid, the legendary caricaturist Al Hirschfeld gave my father this drawing of a French gastronome savoring escargots in a Paris bistro. Nobody had to tell that guy about mindful eating. He was totally digging his experience.

I offer La Serviette au Cou as a guiltfree reminder this holiday season to slow-down, take time, savor the delicious treasures you really love and want.

And then you will be taking a first step toward eating mindfully…

….forestalling usual out-of-control holiday over-consumption.

(To find out more about mindful eating, check out this Times article.)

With thanks to Ellen Silverman for sending the idea my way.
