Brilliant paper artist and Couturier de Cardboard, Matthew Sporzynski sent a truly wonderful insta-hack he devised recently when trying to fix a vintage toy parakeet..

Even my smallest screwdriver was too big…

So Matthew turned to a tool he used daily: his Exacto knife.

…Matthews made a fine screwdriver as good as any in the iFixit tech-tools kit we rely on.

He also sung the praises of the practice of knolling, a system devised by artist Tom Sachs to keep yourself organized (details here)

Practicing Knolling is slowly but surely making me a better artist. It’s a miracle that the parakeet pieces, the screw, the new batteries all remained, as I disassembled them on my desk then the phone rang and I was busy for 6 weeks; during which there was a lot going on in the maelstrom that is my desk.

Thanks a million Matthew!
