Liana Finck has x-ray vision, or perhaps better put, x-ray imagination. In the July New Yorker, she photographed the kind of cast-off furniture we all see daily just about anywhere in America, and overlays her completely other vision of what they might be, providing them with a kind of redemption. She transforms them into “Beautiful Interiors” that are, somehow a relief from the usual shelter magazine fare AND from the sad fate of thrown away furniture. Possibility-thinking at work.
