If you’re as behind the curve as we are in getting our heads around the holidays, here are two much-appreciated gifts you don’t have to shop for:

Give money to a charity in your loved one’s behalf. Most people have so much stuff they don’t need, they really appreciate this gift. No need to tell the amount you’ve given.  Just give them a gift card (digital, hand delivered or snail mail) that tells them about your gift and expresses what you’d like to say. I like to design my own cards via Paperless Post who will deliver them via email, virtual envelope and all.

Give a subscription to Improvised Life. Last year, a reader bought seven gift subscriptions to Improvised Life, so every member of her family could share in the experience and talk about each day’s post, as she and her beloved late husband used to do. For as little as $18, you can give a whole year of Improvised Life to someone you care about. AND in doing so, you are helping Improvised Life keep going (a big gift to us!).
