At his instagram Little Brown Mushroom, photographer Alex Soth posted a beautiful little video of a rock rolling down a path in Bristol England. He dedicates it to Richard Long, whose artwork, A Line Made By Walking, below, has provided mighty inspiration in his life. As it has in ours; we’ve written about it a number of times, but never understood it as succinctly as Soth describes it:

This image – and the idea that art can be made from the process of moving through the world – has inspired me for over three decades. ⁣

Richard Long

We think of it a bit more broadly; (fill in the blank)…

…art/illumination/ourlife/identity/  _____________  can be made from the process of moving through the world.

Art. The calculated alteration of Nature.

It’s one thing to alternate nature,..
    it’s another to calculate it.

    Calculation is the defining point.

Hmmm. Not ALWAYS calculated, for me. Sometimes, it’s just a flow that happens…
