Somewhere in our daily wanderings we came across Sylvia Plimack Mangold‘s trees.  They are amazingly wonderful depictions of the treeness, really.  She’s made MANY, often of the same tree, like the Maple, below.  We found a pleasurable trove of her work at Alexander and Bonin.

As we looked, we thought of this haiku by W.S. Merwin:

How time disappears
while we live under
the big tree.

  1. Thank you for allowing me to start my day among these remarkable trees. It got me to thinking about some others I’ve come across in all the many years from my childhood until now – trees from all around this country and in other parts of the world.
